THE CLIMBING PLANTS
The
Climbing offer a boundless generosity with abundant flowers. Just be patient
the first few years and conveniently watering.
Before going to plant them
!
Be sure the vine has a support adapted to vegetation. For climber plants
grouped in plant actually quite varied. Some are hooked to the walls, as the
false climbing hydrangeas (Schizophragma), while others need support to be
wound. This second category is the most numerous, as we found glycine,
jasmine, honeysuckle, the clematitas ... Choose therefore good support,
better have a nice way, because that is going to lead and be very visible
during the winter. It can be a tensioned wire along a wall or a structure of
wood or iron, a palisade, fence, etc.. In any case, the substrate must be
sound, because bear the weight of the vine, and shall also withstand the
wind.
When you go to plant them !
Work
cross the land , because the vines have roots that sink into the earth more
to be extended . They like the cool earth, that is, which is never completely
dry , even in midsummer . The branches , however, need light, with very few
exceptions . The ideal situation is therefore a dry but not too light bathed
earth. If the soil has a tendency to overly dry ,provide one - mulch or
ground cover plants, perennials that are deployed to kill lying . Enrich the
planting hole with compost or well-rotted much manure for the vines need
fertilizer. No untangle the roots too, do not like the bother. Lead buds for
a first time, to catch the support. Think water them when dry periods.
The Care !
Climbing plants are part of the more autonomous ones. There is, however, that
the most vigorous pruning among them, as glycine. This encourages them to
form flower buds instead of leaves . Glycine might otherwise refuse to bloom
the first year: always winding down to. Equally Prune climbing plants become
too bulky. The best time is either in late winter (for forming thick stems)
or, after flowering, for those with thin stems .
A contribution of fertilizer will be equally favorable, especially in poor
soil . Also nurtures that have been planted against the wall of the house, in
a land fill.
